This is a first for every member of our family! Neither Joe or I have been to the Dallas World Aquarium, which is kind of crazy. This is going to be a long post, sorry! I took a crazy amount of pictures and had a hard time deciding which ones to post, so I figure I will keep the talking to a minimum! I really wanted this post to showcase everything that is at the Dallas World Aquarium for those who cannot make there. I hope you enjoy this post as much as we enjoyed being there!
A perfect day at the Dallas World Aquarium
It was a pretty foggy day in Dallas, a perfect day to go to the aquarium! Before you even make it inside you will see many different animals, the walk way is like a maze just getting to the door!
The pathway leading up to the doors of the Dallas World Aquarium was lined with exhibits full of different birds and they were all so very beautiful!
Shoebill Stork
The Shoebill Stork is such an interesting bird, beautiful and ugly all at the same time with quite an impressive wing span. For that reason I believe everyone should have the opportunity to see this bird with their very own eyes.
A beautiful jungle inside the Dallas World Aquarium
It’s so beautiful and warm! I wasn’t expecting a jungle.
We were all in awe!
Monkeys at the Dallas World Aquarium?
When you first walk in you are met with the sound of a waterfall and in the middle of that there is this little island with monkeys all over it! The little baby kept trying to swing away but the momma kept pulling it right back to safety.
I wasn’t expecting monkeys! He is super cute.
One of the first things you see when you actually make it in the Dallas World Aquarium is the waterfall and this is what you see when you look down. It is completely amazing!
Lady bug, lady bug what do you see?
I see a Caroline looking at me! We even got to enjoy some of God’s smallest creatures, and they were everywhere!
Cute little fluffy monkeys!
Sleepy Sloth
Who doesn’t like a cute sloth! All of us decided that we wanted to take him home, he looks so cuddly!
Dallas World Aquarium Feathered foul
They have a beautiful bird exhibit. We were told that they also have an ocelot however we couldn’t find it. It must be really good at hiding!
Caroline was having a hard time seeing so I carried her over the pathway that crosses over the alligator pit.
Whatcha looking at???
He is a BIG alligator!
This area is a little tank tucked behind the area with the alligator.
Sarah the otter
This is the otter, I think her name was Sarah and I believe that she is 17 years old. She was so very playful! Jamieson and Caroline loved her so we went to both of her feeding times. She was so much fun to watch! I think she was showing off for the kids a little bit. They now both want to have a pet otter. Umm, NO, sorry kids!
Well hello Barbara!
Barbara Manatee is sad that she isn’t going to the ball, she has her head in the corner. For those of you who get my reference…you’re welcome and for those of that don’t, look up the Barbara Manatee song from Veggie Tales.
These sloths were so funny, they were actually “running” and climbing over one another to get their food. It’s probably the fastest you will ever see a sloth move! I loved the sloths, they were some of my favorite animals there.
You are my flashlight
Flashlight fish! Oh my word these fish are so cool! Our God is an amazing creator. I never knew these fish existed therefore they blew my mind. These little fish are fascinating and would be a great species to study. We all agreed that we NEED a fish tank full of these little guys.
They have several little tanks with sea life from all over the world therefore you could spend hours here. Its a beautiful site.
Impressive crab
While these crabs are absolutely marvelous they are also creepy because they look like giant spiders!
Time to feed the sharks!
Let's eat!
There are several places to eat in the Dallas World Aquarium and outside food is NOT allowed. Here you cannot get your hand stamped so you can’t leave to get lunch and get back in. You have no option but to dine at the Dallas World Aquarium. We chose the cafe that is tucked in a little corner on the lower level. I think it costs more but it was worth it to us to have a quiet meal. Trust me if you are a homeschooler you will love it! Plus the food was delicious and the service was top notch! It was like having your own personal servers. It was worth every penny we spent.
My everything
I love them! We had to go back after all of the school kids left to get this picture, there was no getting it while they were there. If you wish to get a picture like this I highly recommend planning your day so that you either make this your first stop of the day, before the buses of kiddos arrive or after lunch. Most of the schools have to leave between 1:00 and 2:00 to get back to the school for pick up. When the school kids leave you will be able to get pictures like this one. And can we all take a minute to appreciate Caroline’s hair, lol! This picture is proof of just how humid it is inside The Dallas World Aquarium!
Cute little Seahorses!
They are just so cute!
I could not pass up this cool photo-op area! Please remember to always ask permission first.
Pretty little flamingos! They are so vibrant and fun to watch, and look at all the cute flamingo things I found!
My beautiful girls!
A real life fingerling
This cute little monkey was so intrigued by the kids and kept reaching out for them.
This bird was so inquisitive, he kept turning his head while we were talking to him. He never made a sound, just kept turning his head.
Well the Dallas World Aquarium is a must see when you’re in Dallas! It is well worth the time. I hope you enjoyed walking through the Dallas World Aquarium with us! Until next time, Love OurCharmingLife
