All four of my kids get excited when I make this and that never happens.  My homemade pineapple teriyaki sauce can be used on chicken, fish, seafood, noodles, or even as a marinade, just be creative. It’s such a quick and easy recipe to make that even busy moms will have time to make it!  Don’t waste your time making enough for just one meal, make a big batch and store it for later!

Why make homemade pineapple teriyaki sauce?

This is such a good question! I eat more closely to a candida diet and my hubby needs to avoid sodium. The soy sauce used in store bought teriyaki sauce makes it high in sodium. Coconut aminos are a great substitute for soy sauce plus it lowers the sodium significantly. I use the maple syrup and honey as a substitute for the brown sugar, which lowers the sugar content making this dish candida friendly.

It's time to get cooking!

Homemade Pineapple Teriyaki sauce

Homemade Hawaiian pineapple teriyaki sauce is such an simple recipe that makes it easy to get your kids involved! When you have had a busy day away from your kids cooking is a great way to connect with them. Our kids love to help us in the kitchen and we love having them help. They sometimes make a bigger mess than we would have however I’ll take the mess if it means that I’m connecting with my kids! Children are so much more capable than you think therefore it’s time to start cooking!
