Time Saver ideas for Christmas storage and organization
Updated on
Time saver ideas for Christmas storage and organization is something we all need. You know the saying “time is money”, putting away all of my Christmas decor took a lot of my time and I needed to buy my time back. I went to the good ol’ internet to find some solutions to my time problem and I’m going to share my solutions with you! Are you ready to get your time back?
Talk about a waste of time!
Every year we painstakingly wrapped each individual Christmas ornament and figurine along with all of the pieces of my Christmas village and put them back in the boxes they came in. Talk about a waste of time! Our attic was full of cardboard boxes and my hubby made a ridiculous amount of trips in and out of it. It was time for a change! I went to the internet to research time saver ideas for Christmas storage. There were so many fantastic ideas and I was thrilled.
There are so many container choices!
Most people used green or red plastic tubs to store their larger, less fragile decorations in, divided storage containers that are adjustable for their more fragile items, an ornament storage container and containers for wreaths. These are all great time savers for Christmas storage!
Sterilite makes great options.
Sterlite has adjustable, divided containers that I found to be perfect for my small Santa’s and the small pieces to the christmas village.
Treekeeper for the win!
My next project was finding an ornament storage container that could hold over 200 ornaments (some could go in the same compartment). I found one by Treekeeper and it had the best reviews by far. The description says it holds 72 ornaments and I calculated that I would need two, however I decided to buy one first to see if it was going to work. It does say “assembly required”, however it is super simple to put together. I got to work putting ornaments in and rearranging them but to my surprise it held ALL of my ornaments. I was amazed and so excited. Eventually I will need another storage container and when I do I will be purchasing another by Treekeeper.
The Treekeeper is made of durable canvas, metal, and heavy duty cardboard. With all of the ornaments loaded in it is still light weight. I can pick it up and tote it without any problems and I’m pretty small.
Light weight and durable
I used some small pieces of cardboard as dividers for a few of the compartments for some of the smaller ornaments. This is by far my favorite of all the Christmas storage and organization containers. I love it!
I purchased green plastic containers with lids and filled them up with the rest of the decorations. It took about 2 days to get everything gathered and put into the tubs. This took significantly less time than with my other way of doing things. Putting away the small Santa figurines and village accessories only took about 10 minutes! I can’t believe that I waited so long to get our Christmas decorations organized. I wish I had done it a long time ago! It is definitely worth the money to get all of the Christmas decor organized. I gained back so much time and I am actually looking forward to getting it all out next year!
My time saver ideas for Christmas storage
We also purchased the Christmas tree bag from Home Depot. Carrying the bag up the stairs and up into the attic is easier than carry a giant slippery box! I found those 3 little carry containers and used those to put some of my Christmas angles, plastic ornaments, and other Santa figures. The best time saver for Christmas storage and organization, Sterilite and Treekeeper!
