We couldn’t celebrate the 4th of July without a cool, festive dessert, and this is definitely cool! Fourth of July Jello boots are easy to make and fun to serve. Of course I had to use our boot glasses to celebrate. Nothing says “America” like boot shaped glasses! These glasses bring back so many memories for me. My Nanny used to make root beer floats for all seven of her granddaughters in them. I just felt they were highly appropriate for the 4th!
These desserts need to be made the day before your event, this gives them the time they need to set. The first thing you need to do is make sure you have room in the refrigerator then wash the glasses. Always make sure you have enough glasses, whether you are using glass cups or plastic cups.
Fourth of July Jello Boots
Fourth of July Jello boots are a super easy dessert to make and perfect for including the kids. All you do is make the Jello according to the instructions on the box, and thaw the Cool Whip. After you make each color of Jello pour the first layer into the cup.
A funnel really helps
After I filled the first layer I realized that a funnel would really help. Luckily I had one! Using a funnel keeps you from spilling all over your counters. If you don’t have a funnel you can make one out of wax paper or foil. Continue Layering until your glasses are full. You can make the layers as thin or thick as you would like.
Top it all off with a spray of whip cream and a cherry. You could also add some Patriotic sprinkles! Here’s to a Happy 4th of July!
