To end our Texas history trip we took the kids down to South Padre Island. Our two littles had never been to the beach so we decided to take them and I am so glad we did! Watching their faces as they stepped onto the beach for the very first time was priceless. South Padre Island gave me a moment I’ll remember for the rest of my life.

The rooftop patio was my favorite part of the condo. If it was mine I would do so much more with it than what was done. It’s a perfect place to sun bathe, the warmth of the sun with the coastal breeze is so relaxing.
Unfortunately our first day there was overcast and cloudy which makes for rather dreary pictures, but the kids had a blast even without the sun shine!
Jonathan was so excited he forgot to take off his shirt, plus he was being dragged along by Caroline. She couldn’t wait for everyone to get in the water!
I love the look of pure joy on her face, I don’t think that smile can get any bigger! She loved the beach and asks everyday if we can go back. Soon baby girl, soon!

The seagulls loved Victoria and kept flying over her. Maybe they were intrigued by her red hair? She would throw water to keep them from getting too close. I think she was a little worried by them!
This little man seemed to think he was stronger than the water and kept getting deeper and deeper. (que a mommy freak out) So I ended up taking him out as deep as he could go and he kept asking to go deeper!
This picture would have been more awesome if I had the whole scene in it. I wanted to make sure that I got individual pictures of each of the kids and was so focused on getting the perfect shot of him that I missed what was happening. He was reaching out for Caroline who was running as fast as she could to him, and just like that I missed the whole thing. It would have been beautiful if only I had panned a little to the left.

We finished our day with dinner at Johnny Rockets, if you have never eaten there you should! They have such great food and it’s like going back in time to an old fashioned diner. South Padre Island day 1 was a great success and I can’t wait to share the rest of our trip with you!
