This past weekend we decided to head over to McKinney for their Home for the Holidays weekend event and it was a blast! This event was for the city of McKinney to kick off the Christmas season, they started off with their tree lighting ceremony on Friday night and continued the celebration throughout the weekend.

Christmas photo ops!

All of  the downtown shops were open and decorated for Christmas plus there were tons of  photo ops all throughout the square. (This was one of the only pics we got, I guess we need to make another trip out there!)

This building was a place for several different vendors to set up and one side of it had a few train tables set up, which the kids loved! ( All of the kids)

One of the trains was Brewster from a kids show called Chuggington, my littles recognized that right away! (Sadly I didn’t get a pick of Brewster) The red table was an interactive table, you could push those green buttons and different things happened around the table. The blue table was Thomas the tank engine! You can see Thomas in the bottom left of my picture.

We spent a good amount of time taking in all each table had to offer and enjoyed every minute of it. All four of the kids had fun!

The girls figured out that this train had free goodies and they were so excited but then the boys made them think they weren’t supposed to be taking those treats. Mean boys! lol! The look on Caroline’s face is priceless!

I can’t remember what exactly was happening here but it was pretty funny!

McKinney Home for the Holidays

How cute are they?!

McKinney Home for the Holidays

Our last ride of the day

We let the littles ride the carousal and that left us enough tickets to get 2 drinks for the ride back home. We were all famished and  decided to head to Pappasito’s in Richardson. Our bellies are full and our feet are tired but we had an awesome day! One thing I did learn is that all of the wonderful restaurants on the square will have an hour or more wait! WHAT!! Yeah, we didn’t think that one through so next year I will plan ahead and make a reservation before hand! If you are like us and love finding things to do around town then you definitely have to go to McKinney for their Home for the Holidays event, go ahead and put it on your calendar for next year! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving week and found wonderful things to be thankful for. I hope your Christmas season is filled with memory making moments. Love, Candise
