It’s official, Math U see is the best homeschool math curriculum ever! Our home school journey has been one of trial and error, lots of error and math was one of those errors. When we began homeschooling I used the curriculum that the private school used. Big mistake!

Homeschooling is all about change and finding out what works best for your family in that moment. Through our homeschooling journey we have become comfortable with change. From the room in which we school, to the curriculum we use, change is always happening. Joe and I have the mindset of “if something isn’t working find what will”. One area the two older kids were really struggling in was math so we decided to look into and try other curriculums.

When we discovered Math U See I actually wasn’t sold on it, but I thought “it can’t hurt”. We purchased our first sets, Gamma and Delta. Four years later and Math U See is still our FAVORITE math curriculum! We love it! I wish I had started using it our first year of homeschooling. It truly is the best homeschool math curriculum ever! ( at least for us).
Time to learn with the best homeschool math
Each year I take time to familiarize myself with any new curriculum and Math U see was no different! I started going through the math lessons mid August (we start full swing school in September when the pool water is too cold to swim in). Math U See teaches math in a completely different way than I was taught and it took some getting used to! After going through a few lessons I am convinced that Math u See is the best homeschool math curriculum ever!
What Should I get?
One of my favorite things about this math curriculum is the manipulatives, or the Interger Block Kit. Manipulatives are a great visual to what is going on with the numbers and they solidify the concepts for the kids. My kids love to play with them even when we aren’t doing math! Win/win! I seriously find these little pieces EVERYWHERE, they use them like legos!
Universal set
The Universal set comes with the integer block set, student workbook, student test booklet, dvd, and the instructional manual. I do suggest getting the dvd’s for each level because if you aren’t sure about something you have a reference. Once I purchase all of the manipulatives then I can purchase the Level Up sets. After I have all of the sets all I will need to buy for my other children is the Student Packs.

This curriculum has been a catalyst to my children’s confidence in their math skills. Before we started using Math U See they had little to no confidence. Now because of Math U See they are confident, even if they make a mistake they usually catch themselves. I have seen tremendous growth in their math skills since we started using it.
